Nicholas Charles Jacobson, M.S. is a Clinical Fellow in Psychology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. He has defended his dissertation and is currently completing his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at The Pennsylvania State University. His clinical and research interest include the comorbidity and longitudinal relationships between anxiety and depressive disorders, and the utilization of technology in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and depression. His work suggests that anxiety and depressive disorders are different from one another, but that anxiety and depressive both serve as bidirectional prospective risk factors for one another. His work also shows that these relationships have the greatest relationships over short-time periods, and consequently his ongoing work includes data collection utilizing smartphones to collect data on anxiety and depression in person’s daily lives.
