I see that Tiffini has responded to you. she can be very helpful in finding parent resources and for advice. the story you outline is totally typical for pandas. it is clear that behavior therapy DOES WORK once the initial panic and terrible anxiety have subsided. the best outpatient group is in Tampa, FLorida (Tanya Murphy, MD and Eric Storch, PhD) and the best residential facility for kids when the pandas is bad is Rogers Hospital in Wisconsin. i just visited Rogers last week and i think it really is an exceptional place for ill kids with pandas and OCD in general. they are opening a brand new facility this week i believe. there is a lot of great information out there including at “www.ocfoundation.org and http://intramural.nimh.nih.gov/pdn/web.htm”.
it seems highly likely to me that your son should be in maintenance antibiotics but for some reason ignorance is rampant among medical professionals about pandas/PANS.
all best wishes,
