it really is impossible to answer your questions as this time. It is possible that pans may be involved. i don't think any tests would help nail this down. a few adults have been given ivig in similar situations and some report positive results. since it is not given in a double blind fashion, it is hard to evaluate such reports. i have given a few adults antibiotics when they have a childhood history consistent with pans and they have currently noted worsening OCD in the context of an illness. obviously, it is clearer that antibiotics are indicated if an infection can be identified. if worsening OCD is the main symptom, using antibiotics is purely an experiment that would be frowned upon by some physicians. all best wishes,
